August 21, 2012 STURBRIDGE — Police are cracking down on drunk driving as their Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization continues.
On Aug. 18, a 22-year-old Brimfield man was arrested for operating under the influence, one of many OUI arrests throughout the area over the weekend.
Officer Michael Vitols was monitoring traffic near the intersection of Route 20 and Route 131 at about 1:30 a.m. when he noticed a vehicle with equipment violations. After stopping the vehicle, Vitols made observations that suggested the driver, Spenser Matre, had been consuming alcohol.
