July 31, 2012 STURBRIDGE — Don't become a victim of Medicare fraud.
On Thursday, Aug. 23, a representative of the Senior Medicare Patrol Program will visit the Sturbridge Senior Center from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. to lead a free workshop. Seniors will learn many skills that will help them become more engaged and informed healthcare consumers and avoid being victimized by frauds.
The Senior Medicare Patrol Program is a national initiative funded by the federal government to reduce the amount of people who get fooled by Medicare and Medicaid scams. Some estimates have projected the number of Medicare fraud cases to be in the billions over the last few years.
