July 29, 2012 STURBRIDGE — The 33rd annual Pan-Mass Challenge festivities will begin Friday, Aug. 3, with an opening ceremony at the Sturbridge Host Hotel.
Lasting from 7 to 8 p.m., the ceremony will include an appearance from U.S. Senator John Kerry, a keynote address delivered by General George Casey, and a speech from PMC founder Billy Starr.
The annual ride will begin bright and early Saturday, Aug. 4, at 5:15 a.m. at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. Several area residents will be among the thousands of riders from 36 states and eight countries participating in the event in an effort to raise $36 million for adult and pediatric cancer research and patient care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
